Ok, I installed all the DWMX 2004 extensions, did the SC database...
Now in DW, I go through the "create" process, and it writes all the files.... QUESTION#1: why does it put all the files into a folder on the root? In other words, if my web is www.myserver.com, it puts everything in www.myserver.com/webname for example: www.myserver.com/webname/cgi-bin www.myserver.com/webname/mall www.myserver.com/webname/SQL-Admin etc.... I would think it should put all that on the root...? no? Also, I've created the DSN on the web server to point to the SQL DB, but when I am trying to run the demo, I go to homepage.asp, click on "click here to start shopping", then I click on Product Page #1 and I get this: Could not open data connection. Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. The Invalid ConnectionString is defined as: DSN=SalesCartDSN; UID=; PWD=; For the life of me I can't find where to fix this... Please help! Thanks! Dave |

Let's see, in regards to the first issue. Make sure that your Dreamweaver path is pointing to the folder that has the website folder. So for example if you have the website folder (e.g. C:\mysite) you would name the path C:\ and then the folder name mysite. That was SalesCart install the files on the root and not in C:\mysite\mysite (again).
Second issue, you don't have a SQL server username associated with the SQL database. If this is your server, then you need to make sure that you create a user and associate the user with your database. You also need to make sure that your DSN has that username and password spelled out in the connection string. You can re-run the wizard to specify the username and password. Hope this helps. |
