Thanks!
I finally realized the issue and resolved it by installing the CDOSYS E-Mail solution instead of using SMTP mail service. It seems to have worked. |

To have the shopping cart send email programatically, you need some kind of SMTP service. Every version of Microsoft IIS ships with a default SMTP service. This service (dll) is installed by default by Microsoft when your ISP installs their server. Your ISP would need to go "out of their" way, to "uncheck" this option, as it installs by default. Microsoft NT & Windows 2000 IIS servers ship with CDONTS. Windows 2003 ships with CDOSYS.
This is strictly an ISP issue. If they don't support what ships with their webserver, you have to ask them what SMTP Service do they support....if they don't support any, you need a new ISP. 99.9999% of every ISP supports some kind of SMTP Service. |

After pressing the add button the following message occurs:
The Microsoft SMTP Service is not installed correctly! Install this program on a server with the Microsoft SMTP service. Error # 429: ActiveX component can't create object Tech support says my ISP does not have asp mail configured. The ISP says send them a DLL to register and everything will be OK Tech support says they have no DLL to send. They suggected changing the e-mail code. Any ideas? |
