the link on the cartcontents.aspx page that points to ../cgi-bin/shop1.aspx, adds a null product to the product list on view1.aspx. Is there a parameter that should be added to the query string to keep the cart from a adding a null product?

Do you mean that nothing is going to the cart when you add to cart? Do you still have an empty cart or an item with no price or item number?

An actualy product line is added to the existing products, but the description says "none" and the price is $0. The subtotal is not affected, and the products that should be there are still there.

It sounds like you have no values being passed from the SalesCart bot. Are you using a static or dynamic page?

Open the salescart bot and make sure there are values or database values in the Item, Name, and Price.

Most likely the permission on your shopping cart database is not correct.

This is what happens when the IUSR has no "delete" permission to the shopping cart folder. Items are added but can never be deleted or changed and typically the order number as well is null. There is a KB on this. Search for the keyword null
