Is it possible to use the shipping plug-in for the SQL version to get rates directly from the UPS rate calculator API, or am I stuck using the lookup chart? If this is possible, how would I go about setting up my SalesCart to use it?
Also, upgrading to .NET is not a viable option.

ComCity developed the code to interface rates directly from UPS but UPS regulations where so intense on Software vendors that to distribute that software had a plethoria of issues.
Mainly, such things as UPS required that no other shipping vendor could be displayed along side UPS rates. That means you cannot show a ups rate and a fedex rate on the same page. The software would need to prevent any modification of rates including additional fees that users may have wanted to add to rates to adjust for handling etc. And the list goes on. Most of our users would not have agreed with these terms. So eventhough the software was completely developed, it was never released. Currently in SalesCart NET, all rates are pulled live from the individual vendors except UPS. We do not support direct pulling of UPS rates and doing so would require us to inform you of these limitations and require a "written" agreement by you to abide by them and that would mean practically a police force to make sure you were not modifying the code which is nearly impossible in asp. It might be possible in the future to do this in SalesCart NET only given the additional controls we have over maintaining code integrity. We are sorry but really these requirements and our ability to control them and make users adhere to them given the limitiations of ASP are outside of our control.
