We have so many abandoned orders. Checking abandoned order report we are able to see all of the customer details: order id, time/date, name, address, email, phone and subtotal.
For some reason these orders didn’t went thru.
While testing cart in IE, Mozila etc, we are able to finish orders with no problems. We had problem with “Your shopping cart contents have changed” but we commented out CheckoutSubtotal line in receipt1.asp and we are not getting this message anymore.
We are not able to re-produce the issue with abandoned order for the purpose of testing this behavior. We tried leaving order at confirm2.asp page without pressing continue order button, and we were not able to have our order recorded as abandoned.
What are the identified causes that could generate abandoned orders?

Well you've commented out some changes in 5.0 that would eliminate some abandoned orders...

Hi Mike,
I appreciate your comment. We were forced to comment out “subtotal check” – to prevent infamous “shopping cart contents have changed” error; otherwise we couldn’t get any order. Will talk more about this error in related post. http://forums.salescart.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=590&PN=1&TPN =1
Do you know what the most common cause for abandoned orders is? We are not able to re-produce abandoned order.
Thank you.

Session loss on the server is probably the most common reason. A lot of ISP's decrease the 20 min. session time to deal with the standard Microsoft memory leaks in ASP.
The life of ASP is about over....
