Hi there,
I am almost done with some testing for my shopping cart. The one thing that I can't get to work is the sales tax. I tested with the state of california, it worked. I tested with illinois, it doesn't work. I set up the information for the sales tax rates in the access database. What else should I do? What files should I edit?

Welcome to the forum!

Did you check to make sure that your product link is setup to do tax for State/Province?

Hi there,
Thank you for answering back!

Yes I did checked for State/Province. I did a test with State/Province, another one with Country/County, and one more with both.

What I am thinking might be is that while making the files according to the template, I probably erased something from a cgi file. But I don't know what file it can be... What are the cgi files that deal with this sort of calculation? Could that be the problem?

Possibly. But if there were files missing from your database, then you would definitely notice it :) Most of the time when there is a file missing the ASP pages will throw errors out.

I got it!
I noticed that in my tax database where 2 entries for Illinois State. One of them was set to 0.0%

Phew!

Thanks a lot for your help!

Ah that would cause the issue. That also causes your confirm2.asp to display the item twice but I guess you would had to looked out for that to notice it.

Congrats on the fixing it.

Many many thanks!
