Author: admin
Subject: 714
Posted: October/10/07 at 2:45pm

This is not a problem with the shopping cart, its a problem with the browser which is distinquishing a secure version of the url from the unsecure version. It should not be doing that and browsers have not been doing since Netscape .99 and nearly 12 years. Its a browser bug.

However, you can work around it in SalesCart.

In the product link, specify the secure fully qualified domain name (FQDN) instead of the relative hyperlink for the checkout page.

For example, be default, this value will be set to ../cgi-bin/shop1.asp. Change it to https://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/shop1.asp. This will cause the item to be added to the cart directly on to the secure server URL. Since the URL will not change after the view1 page, it will solve the problem with these off-brand browsers.
