It just
defines ZIP Codes by zone. I think all it is supposed to do is
serve as a Chart.

Thats all you need. The zone chart defines a zone for your zip code compared to other zip codes

Is that all that this plug in needs? A Chart? (I imagined it
would be pricing)

No, the Zone Chart has no price Data

Once you know the zone, the shipping plugin plugs the zone in with the weight to get the price. Its a 2 step process...complicated, but thats how all the shippers work.

2) Calling Fedex requesting an ascii file for a Zone got me a
"We no longer support that option" answer.

If you have a working Zone file in ASCII format, please email

An example files comes with the software. Its in your cgi-bin file and its called myfedex.txt. You basically back that file up, edit it and change the zone numbers in the .txt file to correspond to the zone numbers you see in your .pdf file. It takes about 15 mins. to type it in/change it by hand....and once done, you don't ever have to do it again.

it to me. I just need to know how the data is set up. I may
be able to insert some pricing data from other tables I
found on their site and create a custom pricing table (If that
is what this plug in needs).

Thanks,

Clay

Some folks have also contacted their local FedEx office and obtained an ASCII version of their zone file.
